The tender scene is framed by a turquoise wall and window, creating a peaceful bedtime atmosphere.
The tin’s body is decorated in rich burgundy/maroon red with an elegant gold geometric pattern featuring repeating interlocking triangular designs around all sides. The words “SWEET DREAMS” appear embossed on the front edge of the lid.

About A.W. Allen Ltd
A.W. Allen Ltd was a prominent Australian biscuit and confectionery manufacturer based in Melbourne, known for producing high-quality biscuits packaged in beautifully decorated tins. These decorative tins were often kept and repurposed by households long after the biscuits were consumed, making them beloved collectibles today.
This tin shows honest age and use consistent with a piece that’s approximately 70-80 years old. The lithography on the lid displays scratching, surface wear, and paint loss, particularly visible on the turquoise areas. The red body shows paint wear, rubbing, and some areas of loss, especially on edges and corners. The gold decorative pattern has worn away in places. The interior shows tarnishing, oxidation, and surface patina typical of vintage tin. The hinge remains functional. Despite the wear, the charming imagery remains clearly visible and evocative. This is a well-loved piece with authentic vintage character.
