This is a wonderfully nostalgic set of sterling silver Christmas pudding charms on their original colorful display card, featuring the traditional symbols meant to bring fortune and fun to holiday celebrations.
This charming Australian-made set contains miniature sterling silver charms designed to be hidden in Christmas puddings and cakes, continuing the beloved British Commonwealth tradition. The original card displays approximately 8-9 traditional lucky charms including:
• Horseshoe (“Good Luck”) - for good fortune
• Wedding Ring (“Marriage”) - predicting matrimony
• Cross (“Church/Faith”) - for blessings
• Boot or Shoe - for travel/adventure
• Wishbone (“Wish”) - for wishes granted
• Thimble (“Old Maid”) - for thrift or spinsterhood
• Bachelor’s Button - for bachelorhood
• Anchor (“Laughter”) - for stability
• Other traditional symbols
The vibrant display card features a festive illustration of a happy family gathered around a Christmas pudding, rendered in bright orange, yellow, and green colors typical of mid-century Australian graphics. The card clearly states “STERLING SILVER… MADE IN AUSTRALIA” at the bottom.

The set is in good vintage condition with some expected age-related wear. The card shows creasing, edge wear, and some surface scratching/damage to the black pudding area. Some of the orange label text is partially obscured or worn. The sterling silver charms show tarnishing consistent with age but appear complete. The protective plastic covering is intact. This is a well-preserved example of a now-scarce Australian Christmas tradition piece.

These pudding charms were a beloved part of Australian and British Christmas celebrations, typically hidden in the plum pudding before serving. Finding a particular charm in your slice was said to predict your fortune for the coming year, adding excitement and fun to the Christmas feast.
