Exceptional vintage half apron by iconic New Zealand brand Taniwha, circa 1970s, in pristine as-new condition with original hang tag still attached. Features an absolutely stunning and whimsical novelty print on a vibrant turquoise blue background showcasing realistic tropical and exotic fruits including oranges, lemons, pears, bananas, plums, cherries, and what appears to be cumquats or dates, interspersed with charming black and white illustrations of vintage perfume bottles labeled “Blue Sapphire Parfum,” “Mimosa,” and “Mille Fleurs Paris.” The juxtaposition of luscious fruit with elegant perfume bottle imagery creates a delightfully quirky and sophisticated 1970s aesthetic.
Beautifully constructed with quality tailoring including a wide gathered waistband with long self-fabric ties in matching turquoise, 2 pockets with contrasting turquoise binding that echoes the waistband color, and meticulous bias binding detail throughout in coordinating turquoise blue. The fabric is cotton.

Original Taniwha hang tag present reading “Conditionally Guaranteed by Taniwha - No-Iron - Size W” confirming authenticity and easy-care properties. The apron shows absolutely no signs of wear, fading, staining, or use—truly deadstock vintage condition, likely unworn and carefully stored for decades.
Taniwha was a beloved New Zealand textile brand known for quality homewares and novelty print designs, making this a highly collectible piece of Kiwiana textile history.
