This is a hard plastic baby doll manufactured by Cherub, an Australian toy company that was active in the 1950s. Cherub was an Australian doll manufacturer originally owned by Theo J Levy Dolls. The doll features:
• Dark brown/black hard plastic construction with a glossy finish
• Molded hair detail on the head with textured surface patterns
• Glass or plastic eyes (has moving eyes based on the construction)
• Red painted lips
• Jointed limbs that can be positioned
• “CHERUB AUSTRALIA” marking clearly visible on the torso
The craftsmanship shows typical 1950s doll-making techniques, with the molded plastic head and body being characteristic of post-war toy manufacturing when plastic became more widely available.
A small size doll in good condition apart from the need to be restrung together.
