Original 1973 US pressing of Pink Floyd’s “A Nice Pair” double album compilation on Harvest Records, distributed by Capitol Records (catalog number SABB-11257). This special collection contains the complete previously released albums “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn” (1967) and “A Saucerful of Secrets” (1968), plus selections from “Relics” and “Ummagumma,” and notably includes the single “Flaming,” which was never before available on LP.
The album features the iconic Storm Thorgerson/Hipgnosis gatefold cover design with the famous kaleidoscopic band member imagery in varying color tints (blue/green variations visible in different lightings). The elaborate gatefold opens to reveal a 3x3 grid of the individual album artwork from both included albums, along with band photographs spanning their early psychedelic era. Inner sleeves show detailed band photos and historical imagery from Pink Floyd’s Syd Barrett era through early Roger Waters/David Gilmour period.
Copyright 1973 EMI Records Limited, printed in U.S.A. by Capitol Records Inc., Hollywood. A essential compilation capturing Pink Floyd’s pioneering psychedelic rock phase. This copy shows age-appropriate wear consistent with a 50+ year old album, including visible surface wear to the outer sleeve and some discoloration/aging to edges.
The unique compilation nature and psychedelic Hipgnosis artwork make this desirable to Floyd collectors.
