Hal Missingham – Sketch Book (1954, Signed Limited Edition, No. 587/650)

A rare signed limited edition of Hal Missingham’s Sketch Book, published by Dymock’s Book Arcade Limited, Sydney in March 1954. This large-format spiral-bound volume contains a selection of Missingham’s sketches, including drawings of people, architecture, and travel scenes from around the world.

The edition is limited to 650 copies, with this being No. 587, hand-signed by Hal Missingham (1906–1994), the renowned Australian artist, photographer, and long-serving Director of the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Printed on high-quality Worthy Georgian and tinted bank papers, with text set in Baskerville roman and italic. The blocks were engraved by A.A. Lawson Pty. Ltd. of Sydney.

This copy shows age-related wear, with tanning, marks, and some bending to the wire binding, but remains complete and intact.
